just took the beast out for an hour or so.  Ironic that i tell all my teachers i dont try to risk driving to school because my car is rear wheel drive.

had my meshies on for a while and havent taken a decent pic.  the rims in front are different from the back, pontiac had a couple variations with different offsets and colors that made it a pain in the ass to peice the set together

now all i need is a set of s14 springs and a hood and ill be happy

took the cress out for a road trip to my favorite spot on the river in sullivan missouri (about an hour and 20 minutes out of st. louis) a couple weeks ago

probably had about 700 miles on the rebuilt head.  

no fucks were given, no problems were had

after 6 months, about 350$, and a new cylinder head, my free cressida is finally licensed and on the road.

drove it for literally 2 1/2 hours straight earlier tonight and didnt have a problem whatsoever.  already in love with this car.

thought both of my turn signals were burnt out until i saw the amber ones under the bumper and realized the side parts of the headlights in X8s dont actually do anything

in unrelated news there are a fuck ton of cars at my boss’ house

finished the last few things that had to be done on my cressida and drove her home from my bosses today :D

it seriously runs so good.  it was raining outside and i couldnt help myself and kicked the ass end out a little

this picture makes me realize i need to get tints on it asap

at last i have the final ingredients for my cressida!

still need a non cracked intake pipe (duct tape for now) and a radiator shroud (original on exploded or some shit? no idea how im gonna get one of those for such an uncommon car).  other than those two things that the cressida is totally legit, nothin else had to be rigged.

hopefully getting it running 100% and driving it home this week sometime.  hopefully getting it registered and legal soon too, my poor old talon is falling apart

another successful day at the junkyard, went to a different one today

miraculously found another cressida there with good glass, good body panels, all the lights except the driver side headlight, decent interior, transmission and differential, and all the suspension.  but no 7mge :( and no radiator shroud :( :( 

the grille actually has a toyota emblem so i snagged that and it had working hood shocks to i got those too definitely coming back when i have money and getting the lights off it and the hood.

thankfully im smart and i knew what studs i needed for the exhaust, brought my thread checker and got a bunch of them off a couple of camrys.  finally got the last things i absolutely needed for the cressida

also snagged some braided brake lines off a stupid ricer eclipse that im gonna sell with all the other crap ive got for my talon that ill never put on there.  also found these plates that might come in handy with the strut tower bar i found yesterday.

pretty damn good day at the junkyard

found out that 90s toyotas have really similar heater control valves, robbed three off a celica and some other cars.  i was kinda bummed when i got back to my car and they were all different than the one off my cressida.    got home and figured out one of them had holes for a bracket in the back, and the lever even swapped over from the broken valve and was at the right angle(!!!).  so now i have a completely legit valve that i can just bolt in and the cable will work and i wont have to get under the hood to turn my heat off and it didnt cost 70$

also i somehow scored a nice strut tower brace off a ricer corolla for 12$ 

the supra was gone though, and no 7M-GE to rob exhaust manifold hardware from :c all i need is those bolts and my cressida is done.

TL;DR everything went better than expected but i need some stupid bolts that i used to have but they disappeared into a different dimension 

wish i could’ve been sliding her.

so close to getting her wrapped up, gotta rob a few things off a supra at the junkyard, change/add some fluids, and get the distributor dialed in

cant wait til i can wash this thing.

also the grille doesnt fit at all since i took it off for no reason whatsoever, thats cool i guess

and on the 6th day, God created the 7M-GE

finally done.

now i get to drive my free car :D
